How can I make my hair wavy?

I really want wavy hair for the first day of school. I've begged my mom to buy me a waving iron (the kind w/ 3 barrels), but she won't buy me one. How else can I get wavy hair?

There are several ways to make that happen!

First, braid all of you hair (if you have bangs, leave your bangs alone) into maybe 10 braids and then go to sleep with the braids in. When you wake up, leave the rubber bands in and spray the braids with hairspray, mousse, or gel. Make sure that you spray behind the braids or they won't stay well. Then, take out the rubber bands or watever u use and then just ruffle it a little with your fingers, but don't use a brush or somb or it'll ruin it. Make sure that the night before, you brush your hair so all the tangles are out when you wake up. If you have side bangs or bangs, a really cute look is if you keep the bangs straight when your hair is wavy and bring them to the side. That would look SOOOO cute.

You can also use a curling iron. Just curl it like you normally would if you were going to curl it and make sure that the curls are really curly curls, and that they aren't wavy. Then slightly wet it with water, or you can use leave-in conditioner and then lightly brush or comb your hair so that the curls smooth down and become waves.

Another way is to go to a normal drug store, grocery store, etc. and buy the shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair wavy. They have those shampoos for curly, straight, wavy, etc. Start using it at least 5-6 days before the first day of school, and i guarantee it will be perfectly wavy when that day comes.

Or try the easy way: go to bed with your hair down and when you wake up, brush you hair to get all of the tangles out and then tip your head upside down and shake your head around so your hair looks semi-messy, and then ruffle your hair all over so it looks EVEN more messy, and then comb it with your fingers so that it's not as messy and then when it looks wavy, spray it with whatever you use (gel, mousse, hairspray, or whatever).

Braiding your hair while it's still wet and then sleeping on it works for some people. When you wake up your hair should be dry and once you take the braids out there should be waves. Blow drying with a barrel brush and spritzing some curl stuff on your hair would also work.
